Samsung made their intital announcement unvieling the Galaxy Fold on Monday 25th March, stating that the new folding phone/tablet hybrid will be available in the UK either directly through the Samsung online store, or via their operating partner EE. Pre-orders for the Galaxy Fold have already gone live ahead of its retail launch on Friday 3rd May, allowing UK consumers to be amongst the first to purchase one of the most talked-about smartphones of the year.

Introducing a whole new category of smartphone, the Galaxy Fold features the world’s first foldable 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Display, which folds into a compact device when closed, fully protected with a Gorilla Glass 6 finish. The Galaxy Fold’s App Continuity feature allows intuitive, seamless app transitions between the phone’s cover and the Infinity Flex main display, collaborating with Google to enable an ecosystem of apps that are simple and easy to use. The Galaxy Fold features Samsung’s largest ever smartphone screen, with a Multi-Active Window that allows users to easily multi-task across three open apps at once.

Not to be out-done, Apple’s latest tablet devices, the new 10.5-inch iPad Air and the 7.9-inch iPad mini were announced a week prior on Monday 18th March 2019. These two new tablets promise to deliver a dramatic power increases compared to their previous model, coupled with enhanced capability with the Apple Pencil, advanced Retina displays, and the A12 Bionic chip.
