Want to join the Intouch Advance team?

Intouch Advance support apprenticeships for staff in a variety of roles across our business including IT, finance, sales, and customer service. We offer valuable on-the-job experience and support study programme – an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door.

Here is what Shannon has to say about working for Intouch Advance:

“I joined Intouch Advance in September 2016 as part of the apprenticeship scheme. I am currently in my second year and studying for a Level 3 diploma in business administration. During the first few months, my role was to support the account director. I assisted with quote production and helped to manage the requirements of customers by logging maintenance queries and ordering new equipment. Now in my second year, I am establishing myself in a sales support role; offering advice, producing analytical documents and providing a range of administrative assistance to the whole sales team.

Throughout my time at Intouch Advance I have developed my communication skills; through regular contact with customers and colleagues, I have gained confidence in assisting with queries and producing documents to help clarify the information a customer requires. I regularly work with Microsoft Excel and have become a proficient user of the programme, this has allowed me to enhance the reports I produce. Intouch Advance provides you with opportunities to learn new skills, meet and share the work environment with great people every day.”

“My Intouch Advance journey began in August 2017 when I joined as IT support. My key role when I started was supporting our IT infrastructure which has now expanded to looking after our external customers broadband connections. This consists of troubleshooting the connection and providing them with the most suitable support. Every day I am learning new skills and knowledge, an example is applying the configuration to Cisco routers for our larger customers, such as The Card Factory.

I am currently working towards a diploma in IT and Telecoms. Throughout my course, I have studied a variety of business topics including learning the best way to deal with customer issues and meeting the SLAs associated with issues, faults, and physically fixing computer systems. Recently I have started to learn how to negotiate quotes with our top suppliers, which enables the delivery of products and support that our customers depend on to keep their business running.

It was the best decision to join Intouch Advance as an apprentice as I have learned so much more than if I were working in a classroom. I am gaining experience that is very important for my future. Intouch Advance is a great fit for me; I really belong in the team, and the best part of my job is knowing that no two days are the same!”

Cameron joined Intouch in 2017 as IT Support. Here’s what he has to say about his experience:

Chris joined Intouch in September 2014 to gain experience in IT Support:

“Rather than learning in a classroom environment, I decided to join an apprenticeships scheme. I managed to secure a full-time, paid placement at Intouch Advance and am currently studying an NVQ in Information Technology alongside it, which I will complete within one year.

Initially, my role involved assisting with IT support for staff but now I also to provide technical support to Intouch Advance customers; as a result, I am gaining insights into the telecoms sector. My duties include network monitoring, fault logging, and troubleshooting, amongst other things.

I have also been getting some exposure to marketing, utilising my existing skills in video editing by assisting with social media activities. I have already learned so much from my mentor at Intouch Advance and I enjoy the new challenges my role offers every day – learning in a work environment was the right decision for me”

“I support the Head of Finance by ensuring all invoices are raised and paid on time. I also help to check Intouch Advance are being charged the correct rates from suppliers, as well as giving agreed rates to customers.

So far I have learned a lot about the different customers we have and the suppliers we use. I am also developing a more in-depth knowledge of telecoms, in how it changes so much and so often. Using programmes such as Excel, Ebillz, and Sage have also helped to broaden my IT skills.

Every day I’m learning new skills and have met some fantastic people along the way.”

Leah Short started an apprenticeship as a Finance Administrator in August 2014.
