My name is Simon Pollard and I am a 44-year-old Leeds-born entrepreneur who has spent the last 22 years building a number of successful businesses. I live and breathe business and have a true passion for ensuring my customers feel valued, something that is at the very heart my business principles. I am passionate and tenacious in my mission to achieve and secure success, as I continue to build and develop leading brands. As well as being the founder and CEO of Intouch Advance for 17 years, which is an incredibly exciting company, I also work across a number of diverse industries.
In 2015 I was chosen as one of Yorkshire’s standout business leaders by one of the region’s top business journals, the Insider. Their ’42 Under 42′ programme recognises Yorkshire’s most dynamic and inspirational young entrepreneurs, celebrating their success in helping to grow the regional economy. According to the Insider, it’s a “showcase of the region’s brightest business talent, the next generation of leaders.”
I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to work in the telecommunications industry: a sector that is fast-moving, dynamic, ever-changing, challenging, but also fun. Intouch Advance’s success has enabled me to lay the foundations to propagate other business interests, at the same time as running the day to day operations here. I can honestly say that the last 23 years of working in the telecoms industry has instilled my passion for delivering the very best service possible. The future continues to be exciting, across my portfolio, as it goes from strength to strength.
I have worked at Intouch for almost 10 years, originally joining the company as an administrator with an accounts background. After 9 months I was made Billing Manager before ultimately being promoted to Head of Finance.
My role involves ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our finance department: maintaining sales, purchase, and general ledgers, and reporting directly to Group CFO Julie Middleton. I enjoy assisting our customers and liaising with suppliers to help maintain strong relationships. Furthermore, I have a small team that I manage and support – it is a privilege to be a part of such a friendly and conscientious group of people.
I could definitely be labelled a stereotypical ‘adrenaline junkie’ – I have participated in bungee jumping and a skydive in order to raise money for charity, and at the age of 19, I would often compete in ‘Reverse Rallies’! In the future, I hope to participate in a shark cage experience on one of my many travels abroad.
I joined Intouch Advance back in June 2005 as PA to the Managing Director, some 13 years ago. My previous career involved working in the legal and professional recruitment industry. Joining Intouch Advance was the result of needing a fresh change – one of my objectives was to join a forward-thinking company with growth potential. Whilst daunting but also exciting, after meeting Simon and understanding his aspirations I joined as his first employee and together sought a new direction in the telecoms industry.
Fast-forward thirteen years later I have not looked back and have developed many new skills, proud to be part of an ever-expanding team. I can honestly say that no two days are alike and look forward to all the daily challenges of working within a busy, progressive, and proactive office environment. One business has now grown into a group and includes a diverse selection of companies: 42 The Calls Hotel, 22 Street Lane Nursery and Covvi (a medical device company that designs and produces a market-leading prosthetic hand).
As PA at Intouch, my primary role is to support Simon as Group CEO involving an active undertaking of various, occasionally challenging, tasks on a daily basis; this can be anything from producing customer documentation and contracts, general office correspondence, making payments and even ordering stationery – the list is endless!
Outside of work I enjoy meeting up with family and friends, socialising, shopping, and occasionally enjoying the odd glass of wine or two.
My name is Melanie Close and I started working at Intouch Advance in 2008, having worked in telecoms for 10 years.
During my time at Intouch Advance I have worked in various departments; mostly in sales and account management. In my current role as of Head of Account Management, I provide support to the Account Directors and Account Managers as well as managing a number of our corporate accounts; large projects specifically such as mobile estate renewals, site moves, and system implementations.
Intouch Advance is a great place to work and many of the key members of staff have been with us for over eight years. Many of the accounts I manage have also been customers since I started at Intouch! These factors make coming to work enjoyable; having built great relationships on both a professional and personal level.
Outside of work I spend most of my time keeping my very demanding daughter entertained with various activities – we love a good holiday and spend as much time enjoying them as school and work commitments will allow, away somewhere in the sun!
My name is Wayne Leach and I have worked in IT for over 25 years and have worked for Intouch Advance for the last nine as IT Manager.
Working at Intouch Advance has always provided me with exciting challenges of the ever-fast-moving telecommunications industry; helping me to further develop and demonstrate my skillset in many areas.
It has been a real privilege to work with such a dedicated and friendly team of people, who have collaborated to grow the business over the many years I have been with them – long may that continue!
I have spent the last 12 years being heavily involved in coaching junior football, for which I have achieved my level 1 FA Coaching award. I tend to spend a lot of my spare time following my two sons in their sporting activities. My youngest plays for the junior team I am currently coaching and my eldest has achieved many accolades throughout his athletics career; he hopes to go on to compete for the Irish National Team in the future.
My name is Kelly and I joined the Intouch Advance team in June 2017 as Head of Marketing.
I graduated in 2002 with an HND in graphic design and have been in a creative role ever since.
I also hold a CIM qualification in professional marketing and have over 15 years’ experience in graphic design for print and digital, spanning across several industries.
I am responsible for marketing, brand management, and communication at Intouch Advance. I manage an ever-growing team of web designers, graphic designers, and marketing executives. The team and I really enjoy marketing Intouch Advance and endeavour to produce aesthetically eye-pleasing visual materials that deliver the key messages of the business to our customers, championing what is an award-winning brand!
Outside of work most of my time is spent with my family; we enjoy days out exploring local parks and the countryside, along with the latest addition to my family – a very excitable 9-month-old puppy!
