I joined Intouch Advance in September 2016 as Sales Support through the apprenticeship scheme. I completed my apprenticeship and have a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration. I am now working towards a level 5 qualification in Project and Operations management. During my years at Intouch, I have established myself in an Account management role and I have now progressed to Head of the Customer Support teams.
My time at Intouch Advance has boosted my confidence significantly, it has taught me how to effectively produce analytical reports, provide tariff/ savings advice and continue to develop strong relationships with both customers and colleagues. I am provided with the tools and opportunities to learn new skills, meet, and work with great people every day.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, watching football, keeping fit and spending time with friends and family.
My name is Simon Pollard and I am a Leeds-born entrepreneur who has spent over 25 years building a number of successful businesses. I live and breathe business and have a true passion for ensuring my customers feel valued, something that is at the very heart my business principles. I am passionate and tenacious in my mission to achieve and secure success, as I continue to build and develop leading brands. As well as being the founder and CEO of Intouch Advance for over 20 years, which is an incredibly exciting company, I also work across a number of diverse industries.
In 2015 I was chosen as one of Yorkshire’s standout business leaders by one of the region’s top business journals, the Insider. Their ’42 Under 42′ programme recognises Yorkshire’s most dynamic and inspirational young entrepreneurs, celebrating their success in helping to grow the regional economy. According to the Insider, it’s a “showcase of the region’s brightest business talent, the next generation of leaders.”
I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to work in the telecommunications industry: a sector that is fast-moving, dynamic, ever-changing, challenging, but also fun. Intouch Advance’s success has enabled me to lay the foundations to propagate other business interests, at the same time as running the day to day operations here. I can honestly say that the last 23 years of working in the telecoms industry has instilled my passion for delivering the very best service possible. The future continues to be exciting, across my portfolio, as it goes from strength to strength.
I have worked at Intouch for over 10 years, originally joining the company as an administrator with an accounts background. After 9 months I was made Billing Manager before ultimately being promoted to Head of Finance.
My role involves ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our finance department: maintaining sales, purchase, and general ledgers, and reporting directly to Group CFO Julie Middleton. I enjoy assisting our customers and liaising with suppliers to help maintain strong relationships. Furthermore, I have a small team that I manage and support – it is a privilege to be a part of such a friendly and conscientious group of people.
I could definitely be labelled a stereotypical ‘adrenaline junkie’ – I have participated in bungee jumping and a skydive in order to raise money for charity, and at the age of 19, I would often compete in ‘Reverse Rallies’! In the future, I hope to participate in a shark cage experience on one of my many travels abroad.

I have worked in IT industry for the last 26 years, 10 of those years have been working as Group IT Manager, I report into the CEO and manage the IT function across five group companies.
Working as part of the Group has provided me a number of exciting challenges in what is a fast-moving environment which operates a dynamic portfolio of businesses which include telecoms, Nursery, Hotel and Prosthetics, all of which are extremely varied. In turn the last 10 years have helped me further develop and demonstrate my skillset across multiple platforms. It has been a real privilege to work with such a dedicated team of friendly people who all aspire drive growth and service our customers across the portfolio.
In my spare time I have spent the last 13 years being heavily involved in coaching junior football, for which I have achieved my level 1 FA Coaching award. I tend to spend a lot of my spare time following my two sons in their sporting activities. My youngest plays for the junior team I am currently coaching and my eldest has achieved many accolades throughout his athletics career; he hopes to go on to compete for the Irish National Team in the future.
My name is Melanie Close and I started working at Intouch Advance in 2008, having worked in telecoms for 10 years.
During my time at Intouch Advance I have worked in various departments; mostly in sales and account management. In my current role as of Head of Account Management, I provide support to the Account Directors and Account Managers as well as managing a number of our corporate accounts; large projects specifically such as mobile estate renewals, site moves, and system implementations.
Intouch Advance is a great place to work and many of the key members of staff have been with us for over eight years. Many of the accounts I manage have also been customers since I started at Intouch! These factors make coming to work enjoyable; having built great relationships on both a professional and personal level.
Outside of work I spend most of my time keeping my very demanding daughter entertained with various activities – we love a good holiday and spend as much time enjoying them as school and work commitments will allow, away somewhere in the sun!
